A great atmosphere and a hip destination for family brunch or for a romantic supper [try a cocktail at the bar in the log room beforehand]. 5 Minutes from The Cottage the Telegraph called it: "A gem of a pub". An inglenook fire on one side and a log burner on the other makes this country pub toasty and inviting. Décor is restrained rustic with exposed stone walls. The landlord holds court at the bar, dispensing Butcombe and Bath Ales Gem, alongside local scrumpy and a good selection of wines. The pub also majors in good food. A great stop after a long walk, or for evening supper on arrival.
