Facilities
The villa consists of two apartments addressed as much to romantic couples as to a family of up to 4. One large apartment on the main floor (downstairs) of 60 sq. m and a smaller apartment on top (upstairs) of 50 sq. m. Both apartments have private entrances and courtyards with view to the sea. They both have a fully equipped kitchen and all the furniture built from stone and wood. The sleeping spaces are formed in elevated levels, either of screed downstairs or the wood loft upstairs with amazing views to the sea - you would almost think you were floating in the clouds! The interior is designed in minimalistic style in white and ochre colours combining all the traditional elements of the house with modern architecture and equipment. The living rooms have stone sofas with screed covering. The bathroom space downstairs is unique, formed in ochre screed and with the retained stone steps that originally connected the two floors with a sculpture-like aesthetics.
The owner, an architect with masters in restoration of historical buildings has combined her art with her deep hospitality in a perfectly balanced restoration between the traditional architecture of the unique village of Emporios and her discreet touch of minimalistic design in human scale in order to offer a pleasant, calm and relaxed accommodation for those who want to escape the city stress and become a part of the well-known Greek island summer life in the most traditional environment; thick stone walls and fireplaces making it also an amazing winter escape resort.
Nisyros
Steam seeps from gaps in speckled stones. Neon-yellow sulphur shatters in the sunlight. A dusting of lemon sherbet and rose sugar powders the peaks. The crater floor dares you to set foot on weak spots in its warm, crackly surface which makes it difficult to resist.
The volcanic Dodecanese island of Nisyros, a Greek island you have never heard of, has an energy all of its own and it is drawing an arty crowd to its black sand beaches, hilltop villages and rocking tavernas. There is more to Nisyros than its volcano. Art is erupting in Greece, artists are drawn here by something else. Nisyros harbours secrets. There are the blue-domed churches with elaborate frescoes typical of most Greek islands, but there are also monasteries buried in caves, and ancient sites blanketed by ash, yet to be unearthed. And so much folklore – there is an entire museum dedicated to it. The best known story is the creation of the island itself, depicted in mosaics and pottery scattered around the world. During the battle between the gods and the giants, Poseidon chased the giant Polybotes down to the Dodecanese. With his trident, he chipped off a chunk of Kos and hurled it at the running giant, pinning him to the sea floor. His deep, rumbling groans were the only part of him to escape.
The philosopher Strabo described the mythology of Nisyros in his geographical accounts of Greece and made note of its stone (pumice is still mined on the nearby islet of Gyali) and wine. The only drink made here now is a bitter liquid marzipan called soumada, pressed from the island's once abundant almonds. Nisyrians still farm furiously on terraces cut into the volcano's conical slopes, producing their own specialities such as an almond, garlic and potato paste, which goes well with pithia, a light falafel made from chickpeas. Local artisan Yiorgis and his sister make the most divine cheese by hand, boiling milk over a fire and skimming from the top. The result looks like clotted cream; eaten fresh from the stove, it tastes like melted ricotta.
“Like your own private 5 star boutique hotel! Magnificent. You will not be disappointed”
This house is everything it looks in the pictures and more, the layout around the infinity pool and interior design are second to none but the view from every room is what really makes this house so special. My family and I wanted to stay another week (if not indefinitely!) and the agents for the property are more than helpful to cater to any needs. The main town of St James is close as are all the top restaurants on the island. You will have everything you need here to make the perfect holiday, I know we will be making a re-booking! 5 of 5 stars

Words can not describe the luxury and relaxation that is awaiting you at THE RANCH
I went on a girls trip to Merida and this home exceeded our expectations. The property and accommodations were exceptional. The home is beautiful and well maintained with secret treasures all over the property. After spending the day sipping margaritas by the pool we would move to the roof where we could watch the sunset or out onto the lush property to watch the fireflies flicker with breath-taking beauty. I highly recommend this property - you will have an unforgettable experience!

Seaside Paradise
Portuguese paradise. Ten minute walk to a sparkling clean and uncrowded beach and easy access to the small town for shopping and dining. The house itself is tastefully appointed with a homey warmth, no details were spared, including cozy blankets everywhere, indoor and outdoor dining spots, pool toys, beach towels, fully equipped kitchen and so much more. The roof top pool was perfect for post-beach/pre-dinner cocktails! We had reserved bikes that were waiting in the drive on arrival, arranged for a massage therapist to visit the house for massages, and helped with difficult restaurant reservations in Lisbon. The house is perfectly situated for a family vacation, enough community space for everyone to gather but then also enough individual space for each to have time alone.
We will return!
