The main house has 4 En-suit bedrooms, all airconditioned with elegant wardrobes, the guesthouse with a bunkroom and a bedroom with connecting doors, the fully equipped gym is also in the guesthouse. The main house has a large TV room and a pool table room that doubles as an office.

An 18-meter swimming pool surrounded by landscaped garden and the beautiful outside patio paved with old style Javanese tiles.

The spacious dining room is, bright and open with very high ceiling, invite gentle breeze from the matured coconut garden can seat up to 14 guests. Enjoy the tropical garden atmosphere, the coconut garden view, the infinity pool and the guest house while dining, reminds the “beach house” of the old days. The experienced and talented staff will always be around to serve the needs of all the guests with care.

I am not entirely sure I want to share this gem with anyone else

First off this is the first time I have bothered to review a holiday accommodation and secondly I am not entirely sure I want to share this gem with anyone else. But in the spirit in which we were received by the most gracious hosts of THE PLANTATION I feel duty bound to take the time to give credit where it is due.

The property itself is of course stunning. Look at the pictures. It does not disappoint in the flesh and nor is it photographed omitting noisy neighbours or ugly views. Secluded, subtle and an oasis of peaceful calm. Most previous reviews mention the fireflies on the lawn of an evening. I now understand why. Impossible to put into words or indeed film or photograph. What most don’t mention is the incredible calm of early morning there.

Good architectural fore thought meant my family of five ‘lived’ easily in this space. The space works very well. Location wise very convenient for Merida and the week barely gave us time to scratch the surface of all the sites within day trip distance. Utterly genuine honest hosts who are as enthused by the houses as we were. A rare find and a true ‘keeper’.

Words can not describe the luxury and relaxation that is awaiting you at THE RANCH

I went on a girls trip to Merida and this home exceeded our expectations. The property and accommodations were exceptional. The home is beautiful and well maintained with secret treasures all over the property. After spending the day sipping margaritas by the pool we would move to the roof where we could watch the sunset or out onto the lush property to watch the fireflies flicker with breath-taking beauty. I highly recommend this property - you will have an unforgettable experience!

Exceeded the already high expectations

My friend and I just returned from 4 amazing nights in THE PLANTATION.

We had spent a few days in Merida, and the trip to the country was a fantastic counterpart. As you enter the grounds, beautiful landscaping and nature surrounds you. At the center of it all is the contemporary designed house, which exceeded the already high expectations we had before we arrived!

The days were warm and relaxing and magical fireflies lit up the grounds as twilight began. the owners suggestions for daily outings were interesting, tasty and offered many insights into the history and local culture of the region.

The caretakers were very warm and helpful and they cooked us an outstanding regional meal, which I highly recommend. We had a great time communicating with them using an iPhone language translation app!

We can't wait to return with additional friends in the near future.
