Most significantly, a fantastic, but never predictable selection of books that will keep you browsing for hours and widely-read staff (take note Waterstones) who are always happy to advise without in any way hassling. Housed in a pretty Georgian building Mr Bs  has many quirky touches - a rentable reading booth that comes with leather armchair, coffee and biscuit barrel and regular book readings and author talks with wine and canapes and a brilliant collection of books for children that will inspire the most reluctant reader.  For a perfect present check out their Reading Spa’s where you get one on one time with a well read member of staff who suggests books for you to check out in their comfy “Bibliotherapy Room” with a cake and coffee!

Wookey Hole Caves | Somerset

Wookey Hole Caves are a series of limestone caverns, show cave and tourist attraction in the village of Wookey Hole on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills near Wells in Somerset, England. The River Axe flows through the cave. The caves have been used by humans for around 45,000 years, demonstrated by the discovery of tools from the Palaeolithic period, along with fossilised animal remains. The waters of the river are used in a handmade paper mill, the oldest extant in Britain, which began operations circa 1610.[4] The low temperature of the caves means that they can be used for maturing Cheddar cheese.

West Somerset Railway

The West Somerset Railway is a 22.75-mile (36.6 km) heritage railway line in Somerset. It originally opened in 1862 between Taunton and Watchet. In 1874 it was extended from Watchet to Minehead by the Minehead Railway. The line was closed by British Rail in 1971 and reopened in 1976 as a heritage line. It is the longest standard gauge independent heritage railway in the United Kingdom. Services normally operate over just the 20.5 miles (33.0 km) between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard. During special events some trains continue a further two miles to Norton Fitzwarren where a connection to Network Rail allows occasional through trains to operate onto the national network.
